Motivational Quote Of The Day – 28 Feb 2012 – Plato – Sing A Song Of Love

Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet. - Plato

*******It’s amazing how many love songs and poems that have been written.  They are sung by many, copied by thousands and recited by more.  Even as children we are affected by love.  It only intensifies with more understanding as we age.  Loving and losing is usually identified as heartbreak.  Heartbreak feels just so.  It literally feels like your heart has been broken in two.  The saying “…died from a broken heart” has been proven.  It sounds crazy, but I read the story of a mother who died of a myocardial infarction the day after receiving news her son had died at war.  You can read more about this subject here http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/really-die-broken-heart-study-175000128.html.  For those that are in love, they soon become poets and songwriters.  Love sparks this creativity that never existed in a person prior to falling in love with a particular person.  People sing, hum  and speak words of love.  It is a glorious feeling indeed which is why some of the most famous songs and poems are written about love.  I, too, have written many a song and poem regarding the object of my affection.  I have also written some heartbreak songs and poems and believe you me, I prefer the former.  I hope to write and sing many more songs, poems and stories about love and I wish you all the best in regards to your hearts desire. :)*******

Song Of The Day – 25 Feb 2012 – Sade – By Your SideYouTube

Sade - Hang On To Your Love US

*******I have been a fan of Sade’s since high school.  I’ve always been mesmerized by her voice and at one point, wanted to sound like her.  I tried and realized there is and should be only one Sade.  I used to play her greatest hits album like it was going out of style!  Sade is timeless.  It took her eight years to come out with another album this last time, but it was like she never left!  I love “By Your Side” because that is how I want to feel towards the man I’m with.  I want to love him enough for him to be someone I’d want to stick by through thick and thin and I’d want him to feel the same towards me.

*******Listening to Deadmau5′s “Raise Your Weapon” reminds me of my best friend in the entire world.  This song is hard and smooth at the same time and I really enjoyed listening to it.  I don’t listen to this type of music on a daily basis, but I have a sincere appreciation for it.  I might have to make a lastfm radio station based on Deadmau5.  Ok…I will.  :)*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 23 Feb 2012 – Napoleon Hill – The Whole Shebang

“Effort only fully releases its reward
after a person refuses to quit.”

Napoleon Hill: was an author and pioneer of the personal
development genre

*******Napoleon Hill is still a driving force in the personal development genre.  And by this quote, it is obvious why.  It’s simple enough, but not known widely.  People tend to forget about the time and effort it has taken someone to get to a certain level.  Most of the time it seems as if someone is an “overnight success” when they’ve really been pounding the pavement for years.  These are the ones that are truly successful.  They didn’t give up.  When times seemed hard and they wanted to quit, they didn’t and reaped the full reward from the effort they put in.  Yes, most goals are hard to reach, but don’t give up.  Pushing through another day or another minute may make the difference between sub-par results and complete success.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 22 Feb 2012 – Dr. Wayne Dyer – A Peaceful Mind

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

Cover of Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

“A mind at peace, a mind centered and not focused on harming others, is stronger than any physical force in the universe.”

— Wayne Dyer: is an American self-help advocate, author, and lecturer

*******There’s nothing in the world like having a peaceful mind.  A mind free of revenge tactics, hateful thoughts and spiteful plans.  I admit to thinking of these things in the past, but I would never carry them out.  Now, I choose to just let it go.  Some things need to be addressed immediately, but most things call for turning the other cheek.  It will get you nowhere in life to constantly cook up schemes to pay back those that have harmed you.  They did it.  It’s done.  Whatever you do unto others, shall be done unto you.  I remember that not because I long for the person that caused me pain to feel the same, but because I have no intentions of having it come back to me in any way.  Even if it didn’t I wouldn’t want to.  I just don’t believe in deliberately harming or bringing harm to another.  So, where would it get me to have these thoughts in my mind?  Nowhere but stuck inside my own mind when I should be doing the best I can to move forward.*******

*******A Thousand Years by Christina Perri is such a pretty song.  It has the ability to take you someplace far away.  Sometimes it does feel like a thousand years and that’s a good feeling once the wait is over.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 21 Feb 2012 – David J. Schwartz - And…Action!

“Life is too short to waste. Dreams are fulfilled only through action, not through endless planning to take action.”

David J. Schwartz
Trainer and Author

*******I’ve done lots of planning in my life and took spotty action.  Well that’s just as bad as not tacking any action.  In fact, it might be worse.  This is one of the main reason for the infamous sophomore album curse.  People are introduced to a great artist, they top the charts, sweep the Grammy’s, do a concert, then disappear.  I believe they rest, then start planning again, but this usually takes so long that people have caught on to the newest “big thing” and have forgotten about the old “big thing”.  This usually results in lackluster album sales, hence, the “sophomore curse”.  The most successful artists continue playing gigs, doing shows, do interviews and appear in magazines and on TV frequently to keep their names on people’s tongues until the next album is dropped.  They are constantly taking action while planning.  Try that for the next 30 days.  Plan as much as you want, but take as much action as needed to accomplish your goals.
