Quitters Anonymous

Cover of Quitting
“If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of quitting them.” – Author Unknown
“I have no idea how many times I’ve said, “I’m overweight and don’t exercise because…” I’m tired of excusing my battle with my weight with a million reasons why I haven’t exercised. I usually either say it’s because I don’t have time or I’m tired. Poor excuses. I need to make time and drink a cup of good ol’ java. I’m admittedly not a morning person, but I know when I do exercise in the morning, I have a much better day because it makes me feel good mentally and physically. When I workout in the morning, I get it out of the way and it simply feels good to have slightly sore muscles. I hit snooze 1.2 million times this morning and I cannot afford to do the same tomorrow if I really want my nice body back. I miss it…terribly. So, I will do P90x when I get home and wake up like a person with some good sense in the morning and continue on my crusade. What bad habit are you going to stop making excuses for?*******

Motivational Quote – 23 May 2012 – Maxwell Maltz – Try Again Tomorrow

“Remember you will not always win. Some days, the most resourceful individual will taste defeat. But there is, in this case, always tomorrow – after you have done your best to achieve success today.”

Share My Joy

My Happiness Is Nothing Without You
“To get the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with.” – Mark Twain

Official portrait of Mark Twain in his DLitt (Doctor of Letters) academic dress, awarded by Oxford University. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
*******I completely agree with this quote. As the caption I put on the pic above says, my happiness is nothing without my family, friends and loved ones sharing it with me. I am grateful for everyone I have in my life. They all bring me joy as an individual and as a whole unit. They all have a special place in my heart.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 8 May 2012 – Think It, Believe It, Be It

This is a "thought bubble". It is an illustration depicting thought. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
“What we think, we become.”
— Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta: the founder of Buddhism
*******”Thoughts become things.” Our minds are powerful and most people don’t even no how much their thoughts effect them, whomever they associate with and whatever they are involved in. I have to remind myself of this all the time. I’m getting better at snapping out of a melancholy mood due to what is going on in my life. I am exactly who I think I am. I need to concentrate on all of my positive qualities and instead of dwelling upon my negative physical, mental and emotional ones. Those I can work on while still staying positive and striving to be the best I can possibly be. So, the next time you call yourself fat, ugly or dumb, remember that is exactly what you will become. Positiveness is the only way to go.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 25 Apr 2012 – Lee Pulos – You Are Gifted

Star Trails DV (Photo credit: satosphere)
“We all have gifts: powers to varying degrees – and everyone has at least one gift – that is your particular piece of power. Acknowledging that you do have power is a major energy of change.”
— Lee Pulos: is a psychologist, entrepreneur and author
*******I’ve known several people over the years that claimed they didn’t have any talent whatsoever. That couldn’t be the furthest thing from the truth. There’s no way you were created to just sit around and twiddle your thumbs. The possibility of that is 0%. We all have a gift. Even if you don’t have the type of gift that would catapult you into stardom, you have a gift. The definition of gift is: a notable capacity, talent or endowment. Which means, being able to win a hot dog eating competition, is a gift. I’m not being facetious, I’m simply trying to break it down to you. It doesn’t have to be an artistic gift to be considered a gift. It just simply means you are in the top percentile of humans that can accomplish the particular feat you have mastered. Sit down and really think about it. I know you’ll come up with something. Even if it makes you giggle a little bit.
P.S. Did the star picture in this post make you dizzy too? Just wondering…

I Don’t Have Time To Focus On My Problems

Lee Iacocca (Photo credit: Nevada Tumbleweed (Mark Holloway))
“In times of great stress or adversity, it’s always best to keep busy, to plow your anger and your energy into something positive.”
Lee Iacocca
Businessman and Author
*******You can’t go wrong with keeping busy when the going gets rough. Sitting around being stressed out and dwelling upon your misery does nothing but breed more stress and misery. It’s an endless cycle. Just put one foot in front of the other and keep it moving. Pretty soon you’ll be far enough ahead to notice you have passed your problems right on by and it’s time to tackle the next life lesson.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 11 Apr 2012 – Do You Love Me For Me?

“Insecurity. If they don’t love you for who you are, check your bags and fly somewhere else.” -Mother Shyra
*******There’s one thing to have normal insecurities such as wondering if your hair is okay or hoping nothing is stuck in between your teeth, but if you constantly worry about something you cannot change, it’s time for a little talk. Being involved with someone that constantly needs your approval or frequently asks if you think someone else is better looking, is downright annoying. You can only reassure someone so much, after that, you want to run for the nearest exit before you flip out. This may have been a little harsh, but my point is, if I’m with you, I’m with you…for you…that’s it. The more you ask me whether I like someone else, the less I’m going to like you. Self-confidence goes a looooong way with me and if yours is faltering to the point of me seeing you have a total melt-down if I say someone else is good-looking, it’s not gonna work out my friend. I have better things to do than to boost someone’s ego on a constant basis. I have enough to worry about on my own, but the difference is, I work on my problems…sometimes slowly, but always surely. I’ll always do me.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 5 Mar 2012 – Walk Away Love, Walk Away

Walking Away (Photo credit: irisgodd3ss)
“Giving up doesn’t always mean you are weak … sometimes it means that you are strong enough to let go.” – Anonymous
*******In the past, I did my best to hang on to people and things because I thought I would appear weak if I gave up prematurely. I only prolonged the bitter end and created more suffering for myself. I since have learned to recognize an end when it begins. I don’t worry about “what ifs” and “but, maybes” anymore. I stand tall with my feet planted firmly on the ground, say what I need to say and do what I need to do, then I walk away without looking back. Having that type of control over my life and respect for myself gives me the strength I need to move forward. Over time, holding on will weaken you as it did me. I was broken in the end, but I am as strong as ever now. A wise person once told me, “You have to let go of the bad, to get to the good.” Food for thought and fuel for action.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 1 Mar 2012 – Attention Please!

Jim Rohn (Photo credit: TheScream)
“Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are
with the gift of your attention.”
— Jim Rohn: was an American entrepreneur, author
and motivational speaker
*******A co-worker I thought hated me once said, “If you just focused on one thing, you’d be amazing at it.” I was totally flabbergasted! I thought I was doing well by doing a bagillion things at once, but apparently, I was dead wrong. I still divide my focus upon at least 4 different things and it is only moderately effective. One task has more of my focus than the others, so that one is going well. The others? Well, look at my blog for the last week. I stopped making the time to do one of my favorite things. Write. It’s suffering and I don’t like it. I guess what I can do is schedule my schedule. I’m not making progress with my current up-in-the-air schedule. I don’t want anything I am doing to suffer, so I had better learn to pay attention and accomplish one thing at a time by making good use of my allotted time throughout the day.*******

Motivational Quote Of The Day – 28 Feb 2012 – Plato – Sing A Song Of Love

Image via Wikipedia
Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet. - Plato
*******It’s amazing how many love songs and poems that have been written. They are sung by many, copied by thousands and recited by more. Even as children we are affected by love. It only intensifies with more understanding as we age. Loving and losing is usually identified as heartbreak. Heartbreak feels just so. It literally feels like your heart has been broken in two. The saying “…died from a broken heart” has been proven. It sounds crazy, but I read the story of a mother who died of a myocardial infarction the day after receiving news her son had died at war. You can read more about this subject here http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/really-die-broken-heart-study-175000128.html. For those that are in love, they soon become poets and songwriters. Love sparks this creativity that never existed in a person prior to falling in love with a particular person. People sing, hum and speak words of love. It is a glorious feeling indeed which is why some of the most famous songs and poems are written about love. I, too, have written many a song and poem regarding the object of my affection. I have also written some heartbreak songs and poems and believe you me, I prefer the former. I hope to write and sing many more songs, poems and stories about love and I wish you all the best in regards to your hearts desire.
